What's Special?

Each one of us has gifts. But often as girls do in our society, we are more likely to pick out our flaws and focus on the bad.
I'd like for each one of us to talk about one special attribute that we have. Then, perhaps we can open up to the special gifts of the women in our lives too!

I have a gift for seasonings. An intuitive way of cooking that is generational. Experimental cooking? My grandmother could make anything, and my mother tells me that my great grandmother could throw things across the room into a bowl and it would come out just fantastic.

I love to cook - to try different herbs and spices with different foods. Oatmeal raisin cookies with just a smidge of curry...Potatoes, Onions, and Bell Peppers fried in a hash with spam...lots of black pepper and a whisper of nutmeg.

Sounds wierd, until you eat it.

I have a gift for or the gift of hospitality. I love to cook for other people and to make people comfortable in my home.

Cara just made me hungry! Really, my stomach is growling. :)

Something I think is special about me?!?

I'm really good at making people laugh! Recently my friends Becky and Jen were here for a visit and I had them laughing so hard they cried. I've always had that unique ability to lighten the mood with laughter.

When can we share about others? That's so much easier!

I am a thoughtful person. I remember birthdays and other special days (even the not-so-great ones) and I make a special effort to acknowledge them and celebrate or remember those days for people. (This was part of the reason I wanted to be in the ministry many years ago--I wanted to be a part of people's special days--weddings, births, deaths, funerals.)

I think you all have the gift of wisdom. :)

Oops, I missed this one. I have a gift for teaching and writing. I am discerning. I am also quite friendly and outgoing. I love to walk around the church before a service and talk to people I haven't met before.
