Interesting. I've always wondered if it's a good idea to take anything to suppress your appetite...I mean, isn't it there for a reason? But then again, most of us have a damaged appetite in some way or another, don't we?
I took 5htp for a while, and it suppresses the appetite. The problem with appetite suppressants is that you have to keep taking them. That isn't a bad thing if it's something like this and it is natural with no known side effects. It also depends on the person and if they are eating a healthy diet or not. I mean it wouldn't be good for someone eating 600 calories a day to try and suppress their appetite. On the other hand it could be good for someone who has an over active appetite.

hmmm... I never noticed that the 5HTP suppressed my appetite.
It suppressed mine. I had to take two twenty minutes before every meal. It recomended it in the Encyclopedia of Natural Medicine.
One time I ate them and they tasted gross! But then, a couple months ago and they were pretty good.
