A little melodramatic...yes, but...

...I'm not sure life is worth living without ice cream.

Is that okay?

I've been trying to do the whole "completely clean" eating thing, but am failing. Yep, I'm a failure. That feels good to admit. :) I just don't want to be very strict when it comes to my eating; I want to eat what is good for me, but not deprive myself quite so much. Make sense?

So I have figured out a diet that is almost "clean" (no processed stuff, no added sugars, etc.) that is still within my calorie intake and macronutrient limits. But it includes Grape Nuts and low-fat, no-sugar-added mint chocolate chip ice cream.

What do you gals think?

By the way, I had a Georgia mud pie blizzard last night and it was sooo good. But I think I'll stick with my old standy-by: chocolate chip cookie dough.

If you can keep to this diet long term, I'm guessing you will always be in shape.

I'm thinking that if we eat what is very, very good for us most of the time we are way ahead of the game and if we eat some ice cream every once in a while it is just OK.
Like tonight, I ate an old fashioned hamburger from Ms. Betty's and stayed within my calories. Not the best thing in the world for me to eat but oh, my, it was good.
So, I'm happy.
and in the words of Levi (when he was 4)"how's a boy supposed to go to bed without his ice cream?"

I think "perfect" is a dream. You have to be real with yourself. I had a burger last night too. This week I didn't stay within my calorie range at all! It's okay though because thats life.
It's okay to be 90% good and 10% okay, or in my case 80% good, 10% okay, and 10% bad. :)
All natural lowfat ice cream sounds like a good choice to me.
